The annual conference held in September received rave reviews, and now it is time to look forward to the 2008 annual conference. Two conference partners, the Southeastern Library Association (SELA) and the Association of Research Libraries' (ARL) National Diversity in Libraries Conference will join KLA and KSMA for the 2008 Annual Joint Conference. For the first time in KLA history, four library associations will join together for the KLA/KSMA/SELA/ARL National Diversity in Libraries Conference (NDLC), "Spectrum of the Future" on October 1-4, 2008 in Louisville, Kentucky at the Louisville Marriott Downtown. President-Elect and Conference Planning Chair Debbe Oberhausen and her committee have already begun planning. Interested in presenting a poster session? The Call for Proposals has opened and the URL to submit a proposal is http://kla-itrt.org/conf/. The submission deadline is February 8, 2008. Accepted proposals will be notified February 29, 2008. As the incoming President, I am excited and look forward to working with the various Committees, the new Section and Round Table chairs. The new year will also present some very exciting possibilities, challenges, and new opportunities.
